Indiana Fever Announce Roster Changes Ahead of 2023 Season

Roster Additions and Departures

The Indiana Fever have announced several roster changes ahead of the 2023 season. The team has acquired guard Bria Hartley from the Minnesota Lynx in exchange for a second-round draft pick in 2024. Hartley, a seven-year WNBA veteran, brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Fever. She has averaged 9.5 points and 4.3 assists per game throughout her career. The Fever have also signed free agent center Danielle Adams. Adams, a 6'4" post player, has spent the past three seasons with the Las Vegas Aces. She provides the Fever with a strong presence in the paint and is a capable scorer and rebounder. To make room for the new additions, the Fever have waived guard Victoria Vivians and forward Breanna Stewart. Vivians was acquired by the Fever in a trade with the Los Angeles Sparks in 2022, while Stewart was selected by the Fever with the first overall pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft.

Outlook for the 2023 Season

The Fever are hoping that the roster changes will help them improve upon their disappointing 2022 season, in which they finished with a 5-29 record. The team has a young and talented core led by 2021 No. 2 overall pick Aaliyah Boston. With the addition of Hartley and Adams, the Fever should be more competitive in 2023. The Fever will open the 2023 season on May 19 at home against the New York Liberty.
